Granite and alkali feldspar granite plutons, and small stocks of quartz feldspar porphyry, of the Paleocene to Eocene Sloko-Hyder Plutonic Suite intrude Carboniferous sedimentary rock of the Stikine Assemblage.

This package was investigated in 1989 by Cathedral Gold Corp on their Whi claims (Assessment Report 19300, 19301) and by La Montagne Exploration Ltd on their adjacent Daisy claims (Assessment Report 19309). Cathredal collected 77 rocks samples and 16 silt samples. La Montagne completed two soil lines following the slope contour, consisted of 24 samples and an unspecified number of silt samples.

Mineralization on the Whi occurs in small quartz veins (<5 cm wide). Traces of pyrite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite or galena were observed in some veins. One sample yielded 1.89 grams per tonne gold and 1.1 per cent zinc in one sample (Assessment Report 19301).

Quartz veins ranging from 1-2 metres width, striking 040 degrees were found on the Daisy claims. Minor chalcopyrite-galena mineralization is associated with the margins of these veins. One sample, a select sample across 30 centimetres assayed 0.22 per cent copper 0.32 per cent lead, 17.0 grams per tonne silver and 1.49 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 19309). The quartz veins can be traced laterally along strike for 100 to 200 metres. Geological mapping on the Daisy claims indicates the quartz-feldspar porphyry that intrudes the older sediments and volcanics is a probable source for the extensive quartz veining and a possible source for mineralization.
